
Congratulations to all of our North West Regional winners...
The awards, hosted by television and radio presenter David Whiteley on 22nd July, was staged at Dunham Forest Golf and Country Club, in Altrincham, Cheshire. Entertainment was provided by the lively band Late Last Night.
During the event, a £2,500 cheque was presented to the charity Prevent Breast Cancer, following a sponsored walk/wheelchair push by residents and staff in our North West homes.

Care Home Manager of the Year
Joanne Robb - Home Manager, Gower Gardens Care Home
Judges' Remarks:
Jo is regarded as an accomplished manager who has an inclusive and positive approach, empowering her team around her. Her staff at Gower Gardens know she is always there for support and encouragement and she naturally demonstrates the same passion and commitment towards her residents.

Registered Nurse of the Year
Elizabeth Jose - Nurse, Sharston House Nursing Home
Judges' Remarks:
Elizabeth is admired by everyone at Sharston House as knowledgeable, caring and hard-working. She is always very polite and understanding and has a great rapport with and devotion to her residents.

Support Worker of the Year
Sharon Edwards - Support Worker, Redwalls Nursing Home
Judges' Remarks:
Sharon is respected by her colleagues at Redwalls as someone who give 100pc and more on every shift. She is kind, caring and compassionate and a consummate professional. She is always available to support colleagues and train new members of the team.

Activities Coordinator of the Year
Barbara Foley - Activity Coordinator, Brackley Nursing Home
Judges' Remarks:
Barbara is respected by colleagues as being one of the strongest members of the team since Brackley Care Home opened. She creates engaging and meaningful activities, always trying to find something new and exciting to do, and is loved by all the residents.

Care Home Business Support Champion
Julie Wilson - Customer Relations Manager, Brackley Nursing Home
Judges' Remarks:
Julie is the consummate customer relations manager, attentive to the needs of prospective residents and their families at every stage of the customer journey. But colleagues at Brackley Care Home know she is so much more that. Julie is great at PR, organises fabulous community events and is ready to lend a hand wherever she is needed in the home.

Care Home Support Services Champion
Adrienne Winder - Domestic, Timperley Nursing Home
Judges' Remarks:
Adrienne is respected by colleagues at Timperley as very thorough in her role as domestic assistant. She gets cracking as soon as she enters the building and everyone instantly notices the gleaming difference! She uses her initiative and will do any job she is asked to do.

Chef of the Year
James Curran - Chef, Park View Nursing Home
Judges' Remarks:
James is regarded as a very talented and committed chef who puts the preferences and needs of his residents at Park View at the forefront of everything he does. He is popular with residents, families and staff and his standards never drop. The quality of his food and its presentation is always excellent.

Rising Star
Richard Jones - Hospitality Manager, Four Oaks Care Home
Judges' Remarks:
Richard has hit the ground running as hospitality manager at Four Oaks and his hotel background has really made a difference to the presentation of the home. One colleague remarked that the home’s café area has been elevated to an impressive new level thanks to Richard’s little touches and his passion for the role.

The hosts of the Kingsley Care Awards 2024

We are delighted to welcome back BBC presenter David Whiteley who is always such an assured and amusing host.
David, a long standing friend of Kingsley, started his career in commercial radio, but became a household name on local BBC programmes including "Look East" and "Inside Out".
He is the co-presenter of cult Radio Norfolk radio show Treasure Quest.
