kingsley regional care awards for the South

Congratulations to all of our South West Region winners...

The awards were staged at the Lord Bute hotel, in Highcliffe, Dorset, with entertainment provided by talented youngsters from Christchurch-based BIGLITTLE Theatre Company.

At the start of the awards, tributes were paid to two much-loved members of staff, retired Operations Manager South Terry Bailey who recently passed away at Highcliffe Nursing Home, a service he once managed, and Senior Support Worker Denise Cracknell who sadly lost her brave battle with cancer last year after serving Highcliffe Nursing Home for 13 years.

Judges' Remarks:
Rebecca is described by one of her staff at Branksome Heights as “simply amazing”, “the best care home manager I have ever met”. Polite and gentle with everyone, including residents, families and staff, she maintains a positive attitude to the most challenging of situations.

Kit is admired by colleagues at Highcliffe for his nursing skill and great bedside manner. He is very kind and shows great empathy, especially towards residents on end-of-life care. One nominee remarked that he is a true gentleman and a team player who can always be relied on.

Claire has a genuine passion for keeping her residents happy and goes above and beyond to arrange interesting and varied activities tailored to their interests. Colleagues at Queen Charlotte say she lights up the home with her bubbly personality and enthusiasm and has made great strides in improving activities provision.
