A big welcome to Salman who has joined us at the Kingsley Healthcare head office as a management intern.
Energetic young people have the slightly disconcerting talent of immediately zooming in on the most important things.
The first question Salman put to Kingsley’s senior management team was: “What can we do to help the Ukrainian people? There are lots of job vacancies in our care homes, can we offer them employment?”
Good thinking Salman, yes we can!
But we must hope that the UK Government now responds with the same directness and positive spirit of Salman and speeds up the visa application process.
The UK has always had a proud record of helping refugees but now other European countries are criticising our slow response.
There are lots of vacancies across the care sector, not just at Kingsley, and we know from experience what fantastic dedication and compassion East Europeans can bring.
