Allonsfield House care home has found an ingenious way to support the cancer charity Macmillan at this difficult time of social distancing.
The residential home, in Campsea Ashe, near Woodbridge, is inviting local people to join staff and residents via the free video conferencing app Zoom for an afternoon cream tea with entertainment, from 3pm to 4pm on Friday September 25.
Manager Wendell Damasco said: “It’s the time we would normally be hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning but under the current social distancing regulations that is not possible. Instead we are inviting people to join us via Zoom.
“If they call us at the home – 01728 747095 - to register their interest before Wednesday 23rd at 12:00pm, our chauffeur Simon will deliver a carefully packaged cream tea to their homes before the event. We will provide the Zoom coordinates so they can join us for the live music and a friendly quiz.”
Popular local singer Annika Rands will be performing her repertoire of songs from the 1940s, 50s and 60s.
People will have the opportunity of making a voluntary donation to Macmillan Cancer Support and the home will also make a donation.
