Animal visit brightens residents day!

What a special afternoon we had meeting these incredible creatures! 🐦🪲Our residents were greeted with a mixture of different animals, from the small but mighty hissing cockroach to a parrot, guinea pigs and a skunk! We really enjoyed learning all about the different animals, what they eat and where they come from.

We have lots of animal lovers here at Oaklands, including Sheila who says she loves all animals however big or small, and Wendy who recalls many different stories about birds and animals she has encountered in her life, such as a robin who she used to feed and carry around on her hand! We're looking forward to more animal visits in the home and making some more furry, feathered and fascinating friends🐾, as we recognise the mood-boosting and therapeutic qualities that engaging with animals can provide.
