Apprentices are able to enjoy a taste of the high life

A group of apprentices were flying high when they were treated to a helicopter ride over Norfolk and Suffolk. The group Leeam Gravells, 18, Laura Whittle, 23, Danny Finch, 17 and Corey Lark, 17  have all secured apprenticeships with Lowestoft-based charity Access Community Trust (ACT) and enjoyed the flight courtesy of Kingsley Healthcare CEO Daya Thayan. Mr Thayan is funding three of the apprenticeships and wanted to give the young people a treat to show them the exciting opportunities that are available to them.  

He said: “When I heard about the impressive work carried out by Access Community Trust I wanted to do something to help the young people they are supporting and immediately pledged to fund three apprenticeships.”   The apprentices boarded the helicopter at the Ivy Lodge Country House Hotel in Oulton Broad and flew over Norwich and back via Great Yarmouth.  

ACT chief executive Emma Ratzer, who was also onboard the helicopter, said: “I just think it was a whole experience that people don’t get the chance to do very often. To be able to have someone offer that as an opportunity is amazing.”
