Award success for Four Oaks and Timperley care homes

NW awards1rs

Richard Jones, hospitality manager at Four Oaks Care Home, in Partington, won the Rising Star Award at Kingsley’s Regional Care Awards for the North West and Midlands.

Colleagues who nominated him said he had hit the ground running and that his hotel background had really made a difference to the presentation of the home.

Meanwhile, Adrienne Winder, a Domestic Assistant at Timperley Care Home, in Mainwood Road, Timperley, clinched the Care Home Support Services Champion award,  colleagues describing her as “very thorough”.

Their nomination went on: “She gets cracking as soon as she enters the building and everyone instantly notices the gleaming difference! She uses her initiative and will do any job she is asked to do.”

The awards event, part of the UK Top 20 Large Care Home Group’s (carehome.co.uk) 25th anniversary celebrations, was hosted by television and radio presenter David Whiteley at Dunham Forest Golf and Country Club in Altrincham, Cheshire.

Four Oaks also had an awards runner up in home administrator Anna Bratyszewska (Care Home Business Support Champion) while Timperley had three runners-ups in administrator Babina Abraham (Rising Star), Iwona Pawelczyk (Activities Coordinator of the Year) and Modesta Takaedza (Registered Nurse of the Year).

In his awards address, Kingsley CEO and founder Daya Thayan expressed heartfelt appreciation to his staff, stating, “To all my colleagues who are here, this day means so much to us. We are a family business, and you are part of this family. Every time we visit, we witness the outstanding work you do as a team, always with a smile. We can have the fanciest buildings, but they alone don't make a great care home – it is your dedication that truly matters.”

Kingsley has also hosted regional awards in the East of England and the South, with a grand Kingsley 25th Anniversary Awards celebration scheduled for September in Suffolk.

Mr Thayan reflected on the company’s journey since its inception in September 1999, started with his wife Sumi, saying, “We aimed to be a great family business that makes a difference in the lives of our residents, families, and staff. We are an integral part of the communities where we operate and take pride in being an employer of choice. For our homes to be centres of excellence, we need the best people – and that's exactly who you are.”

Co-Chief Operating Officer Sumi Thayan echoed these sentiments, celebrating the staff’s “unwavering dedication and hard work,” which she described as the essence of Kingsley Healthcare. She added, “Congratulations to everyone here who has been nominated. You are all winners. Let's also extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone working diligently in our homes on shifts; our strength lies in our unity as a team.”

Pauline Parker-Moore, Kingsley’s North West Regional Operations Director, highlighted the company’s growth plans, revealing the intention to make further acquisitions in the North West and build extensions at two successful care homes, Redwalls near Northwich and Four Oaks in Partington.

“Kingsley continues to provide care homes that are developed to a very high standard. We believe all our residents should be cared for in an environment that is luxurious, as well as providing excellent standards of care,” she said.
