The Bishop of Dunwich, the Rt Rev Mike Harrison, will lead a carol service for Kingsley Healthcare staff and care home residents.

The service will be hosted by him online via Zoom from 3pm on Tuesday, December 22.

More than 1,200 residents at Kingsley homes across the country will join in the service of traditional carols.

The families and friends of residents and staff have been invited to participate.

The service will also be available to the wider public via Facebook Live on the Kingsley Healthcare page.

Lessons will be read by two residents, Neil Cordell, of Thorp House, in Griston, Norfolk and Peggy Brownrigg, of Highcliffe Nursing Home, in Dorset.

Bindhu Varughese, deputy manager of Sharston House nursing home, in Knutsford, Cheshire and Stephen Pullinger, Kingsley’s head of public relations, will also read lessons.

Mr Pullinger said: “The coronavirus pandemic has sadly stopped many of the festive events which are normally a big highlight of the year for our residents.

“We are very grateful and deeply honoured that Bishop Mike has agreed to lead our carol service.”

The service will be the highlight of an afternoon of celebration in Kingsley homes with residents enjoying a special afternoon tea afterwards.
