Branksome Heights care home, in Branksome Wood Road, Bournemouth has committed nearly £800 to sponsoring bowls activities in the town. The Kingsley Healthcare run luxury residential home, which opened earlier this year, has sponsored a scoreboard at Bournemouth Bowling Club’s Meyrick Park rink and has also joined the sponsors of the 100th Bournemouth Open Bowls Tournament which takes place from August 6 to 12.
Home manager Jo McMahon said: “It’s really important for our residents to feel part of their local community and sponsoring important local events in this way is a good way of reaching out to the community. “We are really excited to be one of the sponsors of the bowls tournament in its centenary year.” She added that some of their residents would enjoy visiting Meyrick Park this summer to watch some bowls. Club spokesman Chris Dowding said: “The club are grateful to Kingsley Healthcare for adding Branksome Heights to its growing list of supporters in sponsoring one of our new rink scoreboards.
“It is also great to have Branksome Heights and Kingsley Healthcare involved in the 100th Bournemouth Open Bowls Tournament, funding a series of spot prizes to competitors in early rounds.”
