Branksome Heights experienced a vintage themed event on the 22nd of September where they were able to play vintage games and crafts such as blow football and felt stitching. We had a pianist who played song from the 1940’s era and a vintage singer who was able to speak with the residents about their favorite songs and was then able to perform these.

Residents had an afternoon cream tea with cucumber sandwiches, made soda floats and enjoyed vintage sweets. The star of the show was a beautiful vintage steam engine called Stanley, we had a resident who does not often like to participate in events such as these who spent around 30 minutes talking to the owner of the vehicle about how it was all pieced together from just an engine and was able to reminisce about the times where he husband worked in this field and would put together steam engines and help build and repair these.
