British boxing legend Frank Bruno will host the official opening of Branksome Heights care home in Bournemouth on Tuesday (August 15 ). The former world heavyweight champion will be chatting to guests and residents and answering questions about his career in the sport. He will be introduced by Kingsley Healthcare CEO Daya Thayan, a lifelong fan of Mr. Bruno. In his speech to an audience of invited health and social work professionals, funders and community figures, Mr. Thayan will first hail the acquisition of Branksome Heights as the start of an exciting joint venture with Octopus Healthcare for new-build facilities. The senior team from Octopus will see the first floor of Branksome Heights named the Lydia Koshiw suite in memory of their late colleague in the presence of her parents Lucy and Jaroslav.

As part of the ceremony, Sam Bumford, the current Miss Dorset, will introduce representatives of the dog charity Woofability, of which she is an ambassador. Branksome Heights will be making a donation to the charity as part of its commitment to the local community. At the start of proceedings, at noon, local church minister David Dallimore will bless the home. Branksome Heights, in Branksome Wood Road, welcomed its first residents earlier this year; at full capacity, the luxury 46-bed home will create employment for more than 50 people. Suffolk based Kingsley now has 29 homes across England with three in Dorset.
