Cheers to our fabulous newly-extended Highcliffe Nursing Home!
Staff are celebrating the successful completion of a £2.5m extension and refurbishment project which has added 16 luxury suites to the popular home in Stuart Road, Highcliffe. The scheme has also provided extra lounge and dining room space, a new hairdressing salon, new manager and administrator offices and a revised entrance lobby. Major redecoration work, with new flooring and doors, has taken place throughout the home.
The gardens have been re-landscaped and there are improved parking facilities. The work, part of Kingsley Healthcare’s 2025 vision to upgrade all its homes as well as investing in new builds, has increased Highcliffe’s capacity to 62 beds. Home manager Tracey Millar said: “We are delighted with the new look of our home and the extra level of comfort it provides our residents. “Because we are such a popular home we often have a waiting list, so our increased capacity is really significant for the local community.”
The home is hosting an open day for people to look around the new facilities on Thursday, September 19, from 11am to 4pm. Mrs. Millar will be happy to discuss people’s care needs; sparkling wine, tea, coffee, and cakes will be offered to visitors. Residents have already been enjoying the beautiful new courtyard with barbecues through August, having watched the work excitedly over the past 10 months.
Nearly 20 extra jobs are being created, ranging from support workers and activities coordinators to domestics and kitchen staff. The building work has been carried out by Mildren Construction, in Christchurch.
