Christmas Fair at Queen Charlotte Nursing Home

A Christmas Fair at Queen Charlotte Care Home in Chickerell Road, Chickerell, raised nearly £150 for the Weldmar Hospice, in Dorchester.

Visitors were undaunted by gale-force winds on Saturday and enjoyed a range of craft stalls, refreshments and festive musical entertainment provided by vocalist Anne-Marie and Mark on keyboard.

Head of activities Claire Sheppard said: “We raised nearly £300 which will be split between the hospice and our residents’ fund which supports extra activities and outings.”

She said the Weldmar Hospice would be the home’s adopted charity for 2026 and they would be holding several fund-raising events.
