Double Nursing Degree Congratulations
Double Celebration’s at Downham Grange Nursing Home 🎉🎉
A cause for celebration for Home Manager Kelly Bermingham as she congratulated the amazing achievements of not just one but two of her staff. 🥳
Hettie Harris has been at Downham Grange for 4 years as a Support Worker but for the last three years she has put in the hard graft, blood, sweat and tears and completed her BSc Hons in Adult Nursing studying at the Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in Cambridge alongside her placement at Kings Lynn Hospital. 😅
“The 13 hour days studying alongside working my care shifts at the home on my days off were hard”, she admits “but it has all paid off”
Supported throughout with “pet therapy” from her two beloved Labradors Bob and a new addition Buddy aged just 3, but added that “studying with a puppy sometimes was a challenge, but we got there” 🐾
Whilst colleague Ethel Momdzee has also completed the same degree. Ethel from Cameroon, Central Africa is certainly no stranger to studying having already obtained a Degree in Laboratory Sciences and a Master’s in Public Health but she wanted to carry on. 📚
Despite working and running a busy home with three children, supported by her family she has finally completed her Degree, focused with a simple desire to “care for others” 🥰
Kelly Bermingham and Deputy Manager Rebecca Rothwell- Tullis spoke of their admiration for the two ladies stating “ We are immensely proud of their dedication and hard work in achieving their degrees, they are a credit to us at Downham Grange” 🙌
