Easter Cake Competition

Our Easter Cake was made by our talented Trainee Chef Kyle Wells who, by his own admission, has only been baking cakes in the last six months under the expert tutelage of Head Chef Fiona Coggins.
Kyle loves making birthday cakes for our residents and he tries to personalise them with decorations of their favourite flowers and colours, and also according to their choice of flavour of icing and sponge.
For the Easter Cake he experimented with moulding icing cake decorations and was not happy until he produced the perfect Easter bunny ! He also wanted an element of surprise when the cake is cut - hence the chocolate sponge and the pink icing.
Kyle's birthday cakes have gained fame as a result of our social media page and we were contacted by the Brackley European Association to request if Kyle would make a celebration cake for 60 people to celebrate the 50 year anniversary twinning of the town of Brackley with the town of Montabaur in Germany. This cake will be a three layered, three coloured sponge in the colours of the German flag with specific decorations on the top. This event will be attended by 28 delegates from the town of Montabaur in Germany and will be the piece de resistance of the of their celebration dinner on the 10th May.
We are so proud of Kyle and all that he has achieved in his culinary journey thus far.
