Kingsley Home Care’s “Beat Loneliness” festive invitation
Kingsley Home Care’s branch offices in Lowestoft, Diss and Aylsham are opening their doors to the local community for monthly “Beat Loneliness” events.
Starting at 10.30am and running throughout the day, they will be an opportunity for people to drop in for tea, coffee, cakes and a chat.
The first event will be on Wednesday, November 20 and the second one on Thursday, December 12 which is Christmas Jumper Day. In the New Year, the events will be held on the third Wednesday of every month.
Kingsley Home Care’s Chief Operating Officer Georgina Johnstone said: “This idea has come about following conversations with local residents about the effects that loneliness has on a person’s wellbeing.
“Opening the office doors to the community will provide a safe, welcoming space for those feeling isolated to connect with others. It's a proactive way to address loneliness, which has significant impacts on both mental and physical health.”
The branches are in London Road North, Lowestoft, Mere Street, Diss and Morton Road, Aylsham.
The first event in Lowestoft will include a table top sale in aid of the RNLI, run by Kingsley Home Care client Doreen Butters.
Festive food will be served throughout the day when the branches host their second event on Christmas Jumper Day.
