Four Oaks Residents Celebrate World Book Day with Special Visit
Residents Celebrate World Book Day with Special Visit from Gillitots Nursery
Residents recently enjoyed a joyful World Book Day celebration when children from Gillitots Nursery paid a special visit to spend the morning reading, crafting and sharing their favourite stories.
The young visitors arrived in their pyjamas as part of the nursery’s themed celebration, each bringing along a well-loved book to read and share. Together with residents, the children spent time colouring, crafting and enjoying storytime, creating a lively and heartwarming atmosphere throughout the home.
The room had been beautifully decorated for the occasion with colourful, hand-painted illustrations inspired by favourite children’s books. A vibrant book-themed table also provided plenty of treats, including playful snacks inspired by beloved characters — from Gruffalo-style treats to a fruit platter inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

As the morning drew to a close, resident Ann handed out bookmarks and sweetie “bookworms” to the children as a small thank you for joining the celebration.
Resident Beryl was delighted by the visit and said the morning had been a highlight. She commented: “What an amazing morning. The children are so lovely and really well behaved — they truly put a smile on my face.”
The team at the home were grateful to the staff and children from Gillitots Nursery for spending time with residents and helping make the World Book Day celebration such a special and memorable occasion.
