Gardening Competition

Our green fingered residents have been busy over the past few months sowing seeds and taking care of our garden.

After last years success we were keen to get growing again and a variety of seeds were sown in February. These included beans, pumpkins onions and carrots. We cleaned out our greenhouse, and gave it a scrub to freshen it up and our seeds were on their way. Next we planted some potatoes and kept our eyes on them and made sure they were topped up.

Although not strictly part of the vegetable competition we also planted hanging baskets and pots to decorate round our home.

We have been working with Growzone in Northwich and they are helping us to develop our garden further. We are hoping to make it even more accessible for our residents next year.

Unfortunately our resident squirrels have had a field day in the garden and have helped themselves to the bean seeds and plants! I think next year our Gardening Club need to work on ways to squirrel proof our plants!
