georgina johnston

Congratulations to Georgina Johnston who has been promoted to Regional Operations Director at Kingsley Healthcare after a 37 year career in care.  Georgina joined Kingsley in 2013 as manager of Colne House and took the Essex home to the Kingsley Care Home of the Year title in 2015.

Following promotion to Operations Manager in 2015, then Regional Operation Manager earlier this year she also enjoyed two further successes at the Kingsley Care Awards, winning Operations Manager of the year in 2016 and Motivational Leadership prize in 2019.  In her new role Georgina will oversee the operations at Kingsley’s 15 homes in the East of England working closely with the Operations Director and the Home Managers. The aim is to maintaining high standards of care and ensuring the homes strive to continually improve in all areas and that everyone in every home receives a good quality service.

She said: “I am passionate about what I do and work hard for the homes, managers and staff. I am focused on delivering strong leadership, supporting, nurturing, mentoring and sharing the knowledge that I have accumulated in my time in care. My big goal is to take at least one of my homes to an outstanding CQC rating to demonstrate how good we are as a company.”  Georgina qualified as an Enrolled Nurse – Mental Health in 1984 and worked in hospitals and care homes until returning to study in 1998 when she did a conversion course to become a Registered General Nurse.

She spent a year working as an Occupational Therapist Assistant learning the importance of engagement in activity and the delivery of holistic care.  She said: “I then chose to work in residential and nursing homes, moving up from deputy manager to manager roles; before joining Kingsley I worked for Age UK Norfolk and commissioned their biggest resource, Gray’s Fair Court, in Costessey, an assisted living development, respite and day care facility. I look forward to all the challengers that my new role will bring and in continuing to make a difference.”
