Hadleigh Nursing Home toasts award success
Hadleigh Nursing Home, in Friars Road, Hadleigh, is celebrating four successes in the Kingsley Healthcare 25th Anniversary Regional Care Awards.
In an event hosted at the Ivy House Country Hotel, in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft by ITV Anglia news anchors David Whiteley and Becky Jago, administrator Karen Whayman was honoured as Care Home Business Support Champion for Kingsley’s Suffolk homes while Tracey Alexander was announced as Activities Coordinator of the Year.
Meanwhile, Jenny Smith, described as a “true professional and great support to carers”, was a runner-up in the Registered Nurse of the Year category and Head Chef Andrea Long, lauded as “a kind person passionate about her job”, made the final shortlist for Chef of the Year.
In nominating Mrs Whayman, her colleagues commented: “Nothing is too much trouble for Karen. She tackles her administrator duties with consummate professionalism but brings so much more to the role, always going the extra mile for staff, residents and their families.”
Meanwhile, in Mrs Alexander’s nomination, staff at the home said her enthusiasm was “infectious”, adding: “Staff and residents love her. She is always looking for new activities and experiences for her residents to try and brings the whole community to Hadleigh Nursing Home through popular events such as Easter egg hunts, open gardens and fetes.”
Kingsley is also hosting regional awards in the South, North West and Midlands ahead of a grand Kingsley 25th Anniversary Awards celebration in Suffolk in September.
