Branksome Heights Care Home wins hat-trick of garden awards

Brank bloom

Branksome Heights Care Home, in Branksome Wood Road, Bournemouth, was the winner of the Sensory Garden category in Bournemouth in Bloom.

The Kingsley Healthcare run home is also celebrating a gold award in the Environmental Garden category and a Silver Gilt in the Loving Care Home category.

Home Manager Rebecca Hebditch and Deputy Manager Helen Roy attended the awards ceremony at The West Cliff Hotel. As well as a trophy, the home received a blue plaque which is proudly displayed at the front entrance.

Mrs Hebditch said: “Residents love our sensory garden which has a water fountain as well as all kinds of aromatic flowers and herbs. This year we added a rain drum, which makes a musical sound when it rains, and a variety of wind chimes.

“We also introduced bees to the garden and our residents loved the honey as well as the sound the bees make.”

Environmental features that impressed the judges include a butterfly house and a hedgehog house.
