Kingsley completes freehold purchase of two care homes in premier locations in East Anglia
We are delighted to announce that we have today acquired Catchpole Court Nursing Home in Sudbury, Suffolk and St Mary’s Care Home, near Norwich, in Norfolk.
The acquisition of these purpose-built homes, which both have Good CQC ratings and excellent occupancy, adds circa 100 beds to the Kingsley portfolio with extensive land opportunities on both sites, enabling us to look at schemes to upgrade, reconfigure or rebuild as appropriate.
It is a joy to welcome the staff, residents and families of what have become our 35th and 36th care homes into the Kingsley family. We are looking forward to serving the local community.
Debbie McGovern, Kingsley’s Co-Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are excited to be taking over these great care homes that are highly regarded in their local communities. Our intention is to invest in people and product to further enhance our service offer.”
Daya Thayan, CEO of Kingsley, a carehome.co.uk top 20 ranked large care home group, said: “These latest acquisitions comes as we enter our 25th anniversary year. It marks the beginning of an exciting period of rapid expansion for the group.
“In the course of 2024, we will be opening four luxury new-builds, including state-of-the-art large nursing homes in Holt, north Norfolk and Olney, Buckinghamshire, as well as boutique care homes offering the highest level of comfort and top class facilities in Bedford and Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. In addition, we have also acquired a further site in Suffolk for specialist services.”
Chief Investment Officer Muj Malik and Chief Financial Officer Ian Jarvis both commented that it had been a pleasure to work with the seller Four Seasons Health Care Group and leading specialist healthcare property agents Christie & Co on the acquisition of St Mary’s Care Home and Catchpole Court Nursing Home.
They also wanted to thank our long-standing funding partner, Barclays Corporate, in particular Steve Fergus, Head of Healthcare and Lucy Probert, our Relationship Director, for their support in Kingsley’s continuous growth strategy.
