Kingsley completes purchase of luxury nursing home in Surrey

Eliza Palmer Care Home

We are delighted to announce that we have today <July 5> acquired Eliza Palmer Care Home, in Hersham, Weybridge, Surrey from The Whiteley Homes Trust.

The acquisition of this new purpose-built luxury home, which has a Good CQC rating and excellent occupancy, forms part of our expansion into London and the South.

It is a joy to welcome the staff, residents and families of what has become our 37th care home into the Kingsley family. We are looking forward to serving the community in Weybridge, Cobham and Whiteley Village.

Sumi Thayan, Kingsley founder and Co-Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are excited to be taking over this impressive care home that is held in high esteem by the local community. This has involved delicate and discreet negotiation and we are delighted to have made the acquisition and become part of the Whiteley Village community.

“This latest acquisition comes as we are beginning the celebrations for our 25th anniversary year. It is an exciting period of rapid expansion for the group. By October 2024, we will have opened a further three luxury new-builds, including a state-of-the-art large nursing home in Olney, Buckinghamshire and boutique care homes offering the highest level of comfort and top class facilities in Bedford and Norfolk.

“Already this year, we have opened a luxury 66-bed nursing home in Holt, north Norfolk and an additional site in Suffolk for specialist services.”

Group Clinical Director Vivian Vuchemtigah, who oversees operations in the South, said: “Eliza Palmer is a great acquisition for Kingsley, complementing our existing luxury homes in Northamptonshire and the Midlands and extending our footprint to a new region.”

Chief Investment Officer Muj Malik commented that it had been a pleasure to work with the seller The Whiteley Homes Trust and Real Estates Firm Savills on the acquisition.

Kingsley Directors Cameron and Ewan Thayan wanted to thank long-standing funding partner, Coutts & Co, in particular Shona Pushpaharan, Executive Director, Head of Hotels, Healthcare and Landed Estates and Nigel Patel, Director Healthcare, for supporting Kingsley’s growth strategy.

Eliza Palmer Care Home offers nursing, residential and respite care in a luxurious environment. The home is set in the stunning grounds of a thriving retirement community, Whiteley Village.

Kingsley Healthcare is the winner of Residential Elderly Care Provider of the Year (Large Group) at the Health Investor Awards 2024.

Our focus on staff welfare led to Kingsley being ranked the UK’s No 1 company for work wellbeing in recruiter Indeed’s 2023 Better Work Awards; Kingsley has a sector-leading 4.6 rating on review site Glassdoor with a 94pc approval rating for CEO Daya Thayan.
