Kingsley Healthcare wins top national care award
We are thrilled to share the news of our success in the care sector’s most prestigious national awards. Kingsley Healthcare Group was announced as Residential Elderly Care Provider of the Year (Large Group) at the Health Investor Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
Kingsley CEO Daya Thayan said: “This is a fantastic achievement in our 25th anniversary year and a fitting tribute to our amazing staff who care passionately about making a difference in the lives of the people they care for.”
Sumi Thayan, Kingsley Co-Founder, added: “This is an amazing recognition for all that we do for our wonderful residents in our homes, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work by our colleagues.”
Kingsley was shortlisted alongside prominent names such as Care UK, Avery Healthcare, Four Season Health Care Group, HC-One and Aria Care in the category for groups with 30 care homes or more. In its award nomination, Kingsley impressed judges with its exciting programme of luxury care homes. King’s Court, in North Norfolk, opened at the turn of the year, while Sycamore Heights in Bedford, Olney Meadows in Buckinghamshire and Eversley Lodge on the Norfolk coast will follow later this year.
The nomination also highlighted the company’s commitment to staff development through the Kingsley Training Academy, Kingsley Aspiring Leadership Programme and Chartered Accountancy (England & Wales) Accreditation Training Scheme. As a leading Real Living Wage employer in the sector, Kingsley underscored its commitment to and support for staff through the establishment of the Kingsley Foundation, our own registered UK charity set up to help colleagues facing unfortunate personal difficulties in times of hardship.
This focus on staff welfare led to Kingsley being ranked the UK’s No 1 company for work wellbeing in recruiter Indeed’s 2023 Better Work Awards.
The nomination also emphasised Kingsley’s focus on person-centred care, wellbeing initiatives, and community engagement, positioning its care homes at the heart of communities.
Judges were impressed by the quality of the living environment in Kingsley’s care homes and the company’s ability to maintain its values, strong culture and community approach while growing at speed.
Group Chief Investment Officer Muj Malik said: “Winning this award is a great validation of our Kingsley Vision 2025, which is about delivering truly next-generation care homes designed with resident wellbeing in mind.”
Kingsley also sponsored an award category, Bank/Lender of the Year, and Chief Financial Officer Ian Jarvis presented the award to Steve Fergus, Head of Healthcare for the winner, Barclays. We are delighted to acknowledge Barclays, our banking partner since our inception, for their unwavering support to us and significant contributions to the care sector.
Kingsley’s award success comes as the Lowestoft-based national care provider prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary year with a special edition of its own Kingsley Care Awards. Regional awards will be hosted next month in East Anglia and London, Dorset, Midlands and the North-West, where staff will have the opportunity to nominate colleagues in various categories. The winners will go forward to Kingsley’s grand 25th Year Celebration in September to be held in Suffolk.
Marketing and Customer Relations Director Stephen Pullinger said: “As we embark on this expansion across the UK, Kingsley Healthcare Group will undoubtedly help many more communities, continuing to set the highest standards of excellence, compassion, and innovation in care provision.”
