Local Construction Team Transforms Care Home Gardens
A huge thank you to the incredible team from Wates Construction Ltd (South) and Charlie Drew from West Dereham Plant Ltd for their remarkable generosity and community spirit. 💜🌿
As part of their commitment to giving back, a team of 16 volunteers transformed the gardens at Thorp House Nursing Home, creating an even more beautiful and welcoming space for our residents to enjoy.
Their hard work included repairing and repainting garden features, planting flowers, jet washing the patio, installing a new water feature, providing garden furniture and a gazebo, and even building bespoke bird tables—including a very special extra-large one for George, the village peacock, who pays the home a visit every day!
Thoughtful finishing touches such as solar-powered fairy jars and garden ornaments have created a peaceful outdoor space where residents can relax, reminisce, and enjoy nature. Although with George now joined by a female peacock named Mildred, the gardens may soon become a little livelier!
