Lowestoft MP Peter Aldous attended the first of a new monthly drop-in event at Lilac Lodge care home, in Oulton Broad, intended to support people living with dementia and their carers. He welcomed the new initiative at the Kingsley Healthcare run home and highlighted the importance of different support groups in the town connecting to make the most of the help available. As well as people living with dementia and carers, the event was also attended by a number of people from support groups and charities.   One pensioner who attended highlighted the difficulty of coping with a partner living with dementia and only getting four hours of respite a week.

The home’s new chef, Diana Homes, laid on a spread of cakes and scones.   The drop-in will take place at the Gorleston Road home on the last Friday of every month from 10.30am to noon.
