New luxury care home in Bedford welcomes first resident

Sycamore

Kingsley Healthcare’s new luxury care home in the heart of Bedford has welcomed its first resident in time for Christmas.

Sycamore Heights, in Shakespeare Road, is a new concept in care homes, combining the luxury features of a boutique hotel with the cosy feel of a family home.

National top 20 rated large care home group (carehome.co.uk) Kingsley Healthcare partnered with construction firm Braithwaite Group to deliver the multi-million pound project, using award-winning architects Condy Lofthouse.

Home Manager Heather Donnell said: “We are hosting a special open day on Saturday 25th January, from 10am to 4pm, but people are welcome to drop in anytime to meet the team and discuss their family’s care needs.

“We are confident you will agree that Sycamore Heights is the perfect restful setting for nursing, residential, dementia and respite care.”

The home, close to Bedford station and on a busy bus route, includes such features as a chic café and state-of-the-art hair and beauty salon.

Luxurious bedrooms all have modern wetroom facilities, while there are contrasting social lounges and quiet retreats and an elegant dining room, designed for the perfect mealtime experience.

First-floor terraces allow residents to breathe in the great outdoors with views over Bedford’s conservation area.

Kingsley’s Chief Investment Officer Muj Malik said: ““We worked closely with local councillors, planners and the local community to deliver a scheme that defines luxury care in Bedford while eventually creating around 80 local jobs.”

Sycamore Heights is the third new luxury care home Kingsley has built this year as part of its Kingsley Vision 2025. King’s Court opened in north Norfolk in the Spring while Olney Meadows, in Buckinghamshire opened in the autumn.
