'Not so Blue' Monday

Not so “Blue” on Brew Monday

anuary can be a challenging month for some but not at Downham Grange Nursing Home in Downham Market with staff going the “extra mile” on Monday the 19th of January referred to by some as the most depressing day of the year.

A full day of events was planned to” banish any blues”, starting with little visitors from intergenerational children’s group Friend in Deed, with an extra special visit of Bluey.

This was followed by a full-on day of pampering for residents, staff and visitors who enjoyed a range of hair styling, massage, face masks, and cupcakes leaving everyone feeling fabulous.

Music from local Downham Market entertainer Pops Phipps completed the day with residents enjoying a good old sing song.

Kate Hipperson, project manager for Friend in Deed which brings children to Downham Grange every Monday, said: “There is so much fun and laughter and shared moments between our older friends, parents/carers and their young children. Staff are so welcoming.”

During the event funds were raised for the Samaritans who are determined to banish any gloom on the day with the saying, “Out with the Blue and in with the Brew”.
