Park Lane partnership with Macclesfield Football Club

At Park Lane Care Home we know how important it is for residents to keep active for their overall well-being, significantly improving physical health and mental well-being. We are delighted to have partnered with Macclesfield Community Sports Trust, a joint partnership with Macclesfield Football Club, who deliver fun and interactive sports sessions for the residents to enjoy.

The partnership, which started as a trial in November 2025, is held fortnightly in the home and is a much-loved activity with residents, relatives and staff getting involved and looking forward to the sessions, which are highly competitive with residents.

The sports sessions are delivered by Jamie and Henry from Macclesfield Community Sports Trust, who have both undertaken coaching courses so they can provide appropriate sports sessions for residents.

Jayne O’Sullivan, Manager at Park Lane Care Home said, “When we introduced the sports sessions at the home, we weren’t sure how residents would interact, but it has been amazing to see all the residents get involved and how competitive they are.” She continued. “It is wonderful to hear the laughter in the homes which continues for hours after the session.”
