Wellbeing coordinator Maddie Banica said: “We have done individual trips outs but this was our first major outing since before Covid arrived.

“It was amazing the way people came up to us to tell us how much they appreciated us. One lady was in tears, she asked us where we were from and what a brilliant job we were doing.”

She said customers at the Cliffhanger also greeted their party when they arrived for an ice cream.

“We stopped and looked at all the flowers on the way and took time to admire the lovely views,” she said.

“On our way back, one of our ladies was waving at passing cars and people were waving back.”
