Pumpkin Picking Fun at Kenyon Hall Farm!

Yesterday, our residents from Timperley Nursing Home had a fantastic day out at Kenyon Hall Farm for some pumpkin picking fun! We were delighted to meet up with friends from our sister home, Four Oaks, too!
The moody autumn weather wasn’t quite on our side, but luckily this beautiful farm had indoor pumpkin picking for us as well —how lucky is that? We were so impressed by the stunning decorations on display; the talented lady who sets everything up does an incredible job.
We made sure to take a break for some hot drinks and delicious cakes, and enjoyed catching up with each other. There was even a bit of time for a little shopping in the farm shop where we couldn’t resist picking out a few pumpkins to prepare for Halloween.
There were lots of laughs as we navigated the wheelbarrows—some of our ladies were quite surprised by the weight and size of some of the pumpkins!
One of our lovely residents, Doll, shared that she had never tried pumpkin before, so she was excited to have her first taste with a slice of pumpkin cake. Her words: “I would never think that at my age, I’d try new things—it's always a pleasure.”
It was such a wonderful day filled with laughter, tasty treats, and new experiences. We’re already looking forward to carving our pumpkins and enjoying all the Halloween fun to come!
