Re: Governments Safe Visiting to Care Homes
Dear Relatives and families,
Re Governments Safe Visiting to Care Homes
I hope you and your families are keeping safe and well and enjoying life getting back to some sort of normality.
I am sure by now you would have seen the news regarding safe visiting to care homes that the government announced yesterday.
As you can imagine the guidance contains various provisions, as attached to this, and I have set out some of the key points below, and also I refer you to the government website;
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visiting-care-homes-during-coronavirus
The key points are visiting will be in a designated area on a booking basis (those who are bed bound will be facilitated in their bedroom). We are not able to allow anyone to enter the home without prior arrangement, again as per the guidance.
The following safety measures will be in place and these include temperature checks and declaration forms to complete before entering the home. Only one visitor is permitted at a time and it should be the same visitor each time, we would ask that you decide as a family who will be visiting and this will be the person we are allowed to book in. Visits will also be restricted to 30 minutes. We would advise for the time being that no items are brought into the home as these will need to be fully sterilised. Social distancing will still need to be strictly adhered to and PPE to be worn at all times.
Outside visiting will remain in place and as a reminder we allow 2 visitors per person.
Once approval from public health has been granted we will be in contact to start visiting.
We thank you for your patience, we appreciate this has been a difficult prolonged period and we will want to be arranging things to facilitate these visits. Equally we want to make sure we continue to take all precautions to protect your loved ones in the home.
We assure you our attention and thank you again for your co-operation.
Kind Regards,
Debbie McGovern,
Operations Director
