Rotary Club Members join in with Care home cooking challenge
Residents at Buckingham Lodge Care Home are no strangers to Baking as part of their Activities but decided to channel themselves into a little bit of healthy competitiveness with a challenge over Orange & Lemon cakes.
Calling themselves the Angels vs The Demons, the gloves were on and recipes compared.
So, when visiting Rotary and Inner Wheel club members visited the home located in Buckingham Close, Watton they were very excited to be invited to join in with the challenge but this time with Shortbread.
Rotary Club members Paul Weatherill and Michael Haythorpe were quickly roped in to became part of the Devils whilst Inner Wheel members Stella Leonard and Christine Haythorpe became part of the Angels.

“I have been part of Ladies Circle & Inner Wheel for over 30 years”, said Stella “but this has been a real fun afternoon” whilst Michael stated that he “did not know what to expect not being a cook, but had really enjoyed the experience”
Watton Rotary Club is part of Rotary International, well known for their Global Polio Eradication Initiative pledge which has seen Polio now eradicated in over 122 countries, but they are also passionate in supporting local communities with a focus to provide a service to others promoting goodwill and peace.
Homes Manager Bethany Dawson sampled the final product with the Devils being “overjoyed” to win, motivating them for the next challenge.
