Sharston House nursing home staff honoured for work during pandemic
Staff at Sharston House nursing home in Knutsford have been thanked for their hard work and dedication during the pandemic as part of a group-wide Kingsley Heroes Day.
They were presented with gift vouchers and certificates and enjoyed a special afternoon tea.
Nish Gottlieb, manager of the Kingsley Healthcare run home, in Manor Park South, said: “Staff have been amazing during a very difficult time. During the long lockdowns they assumed the role of family to our residents who could not see their loved ones.
“And as well as supporting the residents they supported each other to keep up morale. Their spirit has helped us emerge as a stronger team.”
The Kingsley Heroes Day comes after the opening of a memorial garden at the home last month when staff, residents and their families were joined at a service by relatives of residents who lost their lives to Covid.
At the height of the pandemic Sharston House sadly lost six residents as well as Napoleon, a much-loved, long-serving member of staff.
