Spring Lodge Care Home in Woolverstone, near Ipswich, held a 1950s event to celebrate National Care Home Open Day last Friday, June 19. Residents and staff of the care home enjoyed the event alongside members of the local community.   During the day, there was American diner-style food and drink to enjoy, including burgers, chips and milkshakes, as well as entertainment by an Elvis tribute act, and the event concluded with a cream tea.   Members of staff got into the spirit of the event by dressing up in 1950s-style fashion.   Lisa Sheppard, manager of Spring Lodge, said: “It was lovely to open our care home for the National Care Home Open Day to the local community. “This enabled us to share with others all the good things we do for our residents. We had a wonderful afternoon.” Viktor Zak, operations manager at the home, said: “Opening up the care home helps to improve the picture of care we provide.
