Staff at Four Oaks Care home make Wedding Dream come true.
The team at Four Oaks Care Home in Partington, which is part of the Kingsley Healthcare group of homes, were delighted to help make a Wedding Dream come true!
When staff at Four Oaks Care Home found out that Charlotte Warburton, the daughter of one of their residents, Sandra Flynn, was getting married, they pulled out all the stops to make sure that the Mother of the Bride not only got to the wedding on time but looked fabulous too.
Sandra had enjoyed a lovely trip out with her daughters to choose her dress for the wedding. A few days before the big day, Chloe, Lifestyle Manager at the home took Sandra shopping to help her choose her makeup and other finishing touches to complete the outfit as well as picking a Wedding Card and gift for the happy couple.
No shopping trip would be complete without relaxing cup of a coffee, which provided a great opportunity for them to chat about the forthcoming wedding. Sandra was delighted to talk about her five daughters growing up and got nostalgic talking about Charlotte and couldn’t believe another of her ‘babies’ was getting married. Like any mother of the bride Sandra was feeling nervous for her daughter for her big day and Chloe helped settle her nerves.
On the day of the wedding Chloe came in early to paint Sandra's nails and do her hair and make-up, spending the morning getting ready in the hairdressing salon. Chloe painted Sandra’s nails curled her hair before helping Sandra put on her ‘Mother of the Bride’ outfit.
When Sandra was ready, she was delighted to show off her finished look to staff and other residents.
Gillian, one of our residents said "You look beautiful, I hope you have a lovely day and enjoy spending time with your family." Another resident, Anna said, "Wow, I can't believe how beautiful you look, like a princess. I hope you have fun. I hope to see some photographs when you get back."
Sandra's grandson Jordan, picked her up from the home at 10:30am and dropped her off at her daughter Lucy's house, so that she was able to spend time with them before they headed to the wedding ceremony.
Sandra's daughter Lucy was very thankful, she said, "Chloe, we can't thank you all enough. She looks amazing, her hair and makeup are perfect. I cried when I saw her at my front door. Thanks again, you are all amazing with her. We cannot thank you and all the staff enough, for all you do for our Mum."
Sandra's daughter Charlotte Warburton married Lee Massey at The Bowdon Rooms on Saturday 4th May.
Sandra really enjoyed herself, her daughters were so proud of her. She was still on the dancefloor up until 11:30pm, dancing with all of her family. She is still talking about the wedding day now, she said it was an amazing day, seeing all of her family dressed up, and together.
Beverley Davies, Manager at Four Oaks Care Home said “We were delighted to make Sandra’s dream of attending her youngest daughters Charlottes wedding come true. Sandra looked beautiful and had a fabulous time at the wedding.” She continued “Charlotte and all the family have some as some wonderful memories of the day which they will cherish forever.
