Support our Spring Lodge cake sale in aid of Shotley Kidzone pre-school
Staff will be outside the home from 10am to noon on Thursday, 24 March, selling cakes to drivers and pedestrians.
Our award-winning chef Andy will be baking cakes specially for the sale which will be raising money for Shotley Kidzone pre-school.
Home manager Paul said: “With the easing of Covid restrictions we wanted to reach out to the community and raise some money for a very worthy cause.
“During the pandemic, residents missed having contact with youngsters from the pre-school and we feel now is the time to start making careful steps back to a more normal way of life.
“As well as asking local people to support the event by buying cakes, I am also appealing for volunteers to help us on the day.”
Paul, who is settling into his new role having been promoted from deputy manager before Christmas, said he was keen for residents’ families to make suggestions for future events and activities.
He said: “My door is always open for family members to raise any concerns or share their ideas for improving the service. We have some great staff here and my focus will be on working really hard as a team to make sure we get a good rating at the next CQC inspection.”
