The grand opening of Hadleigh Hall Nursing Home on September 26 will be celebrated with an exhibition by local artists. The display by members of Hadleigh Art Club will run for two weeks up to October 10 and the public is invited to view the work at the Friars Road home daily between 10am and 4pm. Some of the exhibits by the artists, who work in a variety of media and choose a wide range of subjects and styles, will be for sale. Maureen Turner, a member of Hadleigh Photography Group, will also be exhibiting. Former world boxing champion Barry McGuigan will be celebrity guest at the grand opening which will take place from 11.30am to 2pm on Tuesday, September 26.
Local people are invited to come along to the event at Kingsley Healthcare’s newest home, in Friars Road, Hadleigh, to meet the former featherweight and share memories of his famous fight nights. Manager Emma Beckett said: “So we can know numbers for catering, it is essential that people contact the home by September 19 if they wish to attend. By doing that they will also secure entry in our prize draw.” Guests will be able to enjoy a free barbecue and music from a local string quartet; there will also be songs from Hadleigh Community Choir. The Mayor of Hadleigh, Yvonne Free, will be attending the event with local health and social care professionals, along with special invitees from the town.
Kingsley took over the home at the beginning of the year and the first new residents have moved in following a complete refurbishment. Ahead of the grand opening, the public will have another opportunity to look around Hadleigh Hall Nursing Home at a coffee morning on September 13, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. All are welcome.
