Timperley residents enjoy a wonderful trip to Bridgewater Hall

Bridgewater Hall 1

Residents at Timperley Care Home recently had incredible day at the "So Many Beauties" dementia-friendly music festival at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester!

The residents were treated to a variety of wonderful activities and workshops as well as witnessing an awe-inspiring performance from Music in Hospitals and Care, where a talented opera singer captivated everyone with their voice. They were also thrilled by a dynamic dance group performing the traditional stick dance from Gujarat, India. The stunning auditorium echoed with new music from local support groups and professionals from the So Many Beauties cultural collective, Manchester's own Hallé Orchestra, the Royal Northern College of Music, and Milap.

All the residents loved the gospel choir and were moved by the beautiful performance of John Lancaster Siar. Many memories were brought back during the "Singing for Well-Being" workshop with Shared Harmonies, and the ladies absolutely adored The Salon with Tom Yum Slim Theatre Company.

Attending the event was particularly special for one of the residents Kay, a lifelong musician who had played many instruments in the past. The music and opera performances deeply resonated with her.

One resident Doll said ”I absolutely laughed and loved all the performances, but especially the one in the auditorium with all the vibrant colours and cultures. It was so rich and overwhelming—it really made my day!"

Pauline Parker-Moore, Regional Operations Director at Kingsley Healthcare Group said “It sounds like everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed their trip out.” She continued “At Kingsley Healthcare we support our residents to take part in activities and events in the local area as we know how important it is for them to remain part of the communities in which they live.”
