Turning Wealth Into Purpose Kingsley Healthcare Joins The King's Trust and Coutts for Philanthropy Panel

Earlier this week, Kingsley Healthcare was proud to take part in a special panel discussion hosted by Coutts in partnership with The King's Trust, exploring how successful families and entrepreneurs can turn wealth into lasting purpose.

The event, titled "Philanthropy & Legacy: In Conversation with The King's Trust," brought together a small but passionate group of business leaders, philanthropists and advisors to discuss how giving — whether time, skills or resources — can create meaningful, lasting impact.

The Conversation

Raphaelle Thayan, Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships and Board Member at Kingsley Healthcare, joined the panel alongside Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL and Jonathan Quin. The discussion explored how families can channel their success into social good, how to bring the next generation along for the journey, and why giving your time and expertise can be just as powerful as writing a cheque.

Why It Matters

The panel took place as The King's Trust marks its 50th anniversary — a milestone that comes at a critical time. With nearly one million young people in the UK currently not in education, employment or training (NEET), the need for innovative partnerships between businesses and charitable organisations has never been greater.

As one of the UK's largest social care employers, Kingsley Healthcare is an official Delivery Partner of The King's Trust's Health & Social Care programme. Through this partnership, we see first-hand the difference it makes when businesses invest in young people — opening doors, building confidence and creating real pathways into employment.

"We see first-hand the difference it makes when businesses invest in young people. This programme equips them with confidence, real-world skills, and a clear understanding of the pathways available to them."

A Shared Mission

Fellow panellist Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL echoed the spirit of the afternoon, describing it as a reminder of the extraordinary power of philanthropy to help families turn wealth into purpose and engage future generations in meaningful ways.

The event was a powerful reminder that giving back is not just about financial contributions — it's about showing up, sharing your knowledge and being part of something bigger than yourself.

"Huge credit to the Coutts and King's Trust teams for bringing this group together. It was a brilliant, energising afternoon — and exactly the kind of conversation we need more of."

— Raphaelle Thayan
