Young musicians from Christchurch Music Centre (CMC) visited Highcliffe Nursing Home for a concert to thank staff & residents
Young musicians from Christchurch Music Centre (CMC) visited Highcliffe Nursing Home for a concert to thank staff and residents for their support. National care provider Kingsley Healthcare, which runs the home in Stuart Road, Highcliffe, has sponsored the band throughout the past year through a £1,500 donation. Home manager Tracey Millar said: “The young musicians are amazing and our residents loved listening to them. As a company, we are thrilled to have been able to support such talent.” Band spokesman Stewart Day said the musicians performing were members of a new ensemble that had been formed only thanks to the generous sponsorship of Kingsley.
He said: “It is a great addition to CMC and enables our coaches to challenge our better musicians to further develop their musicianship. “Additionally, being a smaller group, it provides us with a better opportunity to perform to audiences, such as the residents, without the need of space and instruments/kit required by the full band.” He said Kingsley’s sponsorship had enabled the band to fund the additional coaching needed and purchase of music specifically for the smaller group.
“Once again, thank you very much to the directors, staff and residents associated with Kingsley Healthcare for the fantastic support that has been provided to CMC during 2016/17,” he said.
