A charity spin-a-thon at Highcliffe Nursing Home raised more than £400 for the Alzheimer’s Society. The Mayor of Christchurch, Trish Jamieson, came to watch the afternoon of fun at the Stuart Road home in her first week in office. Staff and residents’ relatives took it in turns on spinning bikes and kept going for six hours from noon to 6pm. Families from the wider community were invited to attend the event which also included a cake stall, raffle and singing from vintage artist Retro Rita.
