Staff at Park Lane care home, in Congleton, decided to raise money for charity rather than sending Christmas cards out to friends and family.
The saving amounted to £160 which was donated to Listening Out Loud (LOL Foundation).
Karen Weighell and Steve Court, who work for the Congleton-based charity that supports Forces veterans to adjust to civilian life, were delighted to accept a cheque from home manager Jayne O’Sullivan.
Jayne said: “We all decided it was a waste of money sending Christmas cards that only get thrown away and it made more sense to send the money to a worthy local cause.”
LOL Foundation provides a range of services, including temporary housing and counselling, for veterans struggling with mental health issues.
