Kingsley Healthcare becomes accountancy training provider

Nicola

Daya Thayan, CEO of the Lowestoft based Kingsley Healthcare Group, said: “We are committed to furthering the professional potential of young people in the town. “This will offer them a fantastic opportunity to train as an accountant in a commercial setting; these opportunities are hard to come by because the traditional training providers, such as accountancy firms, are offering fewer and fewer opportunities. “Kingsley is committed to recruiting a regular intake and this offer will be given to people in Lowestoft in the first instance.”

He said the new initiative was being headed up by Kingsley’s group financial controller Nicola Mantripp who oversees a team of chartered accountants at the firm’s head office, Kingsley House, in Clapham Road South. The chartered accountant training will be carried out in the setting of Kingsley’s training academy which already provides a range of training opportunities for the group’s 1,600 staff. Mrs Mantripp, who has worked for Kingsley for nine years, said: “I was fortunate enough to study through a similar scheme with local firm Lovewell Blake.

Qualifying at 22 years old this gave me the opportunity to make my way up the career ladder before most others had finished university. “I want to provide the same level of opportunity to ambitious young people today who want to get experience as well as a qualification.” Group chief financial officer Ian Jarvis said: “Nikki and her team are delighted to be launching this training scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity for youngsters seeking to take professional accountancy qualifications.”
