end of life care v2

End-of-Life Care

End-of-life or palliative care is the type of support provided to people who are living with a terminal illness or condition. At Kingsley, we wholeheartedly believe every person should have the respect, care, and dignity they deserve as they approach the end of their lives. We acknowledge and understand their wishes and provide much-needed support for their families.

What is palliative care?

Friendly interaction

Our expert palliative care approach provides the ultimate combination of sensitivity and compassion required for specialised end-of-life care throughout many of our care homes. This component of caring is something we take exceptionally seriously, and we are proud of the fact that a number of our care homes have been accredited with the Gold Standards Framework for excellence in palliative care. We work closely with healthcare specialists such as GPs to make individuals as comfortable as possible.

Benefits of palliative care?

Palliative care involves a very specialised approach toward the individual. It aims to manage pain and other symptoms as far as possible instead of providing a cure. The main goal is to ensure the person is kept as comfortable and pain-free as possible, with as little distress or impact.

There are numerous benefits of receiving palliative care from a dedicated and experienced team at one of our care homes. Often families feel overwhelmed with caring for their ill loved ones. Knowing they are in excellent, medically trained hands is a massive relief.

Residents and families often share that our care homes feel like a "home from home”. This comforting sense of familiarity and normality in what can be a very emotional stage of life for everyone involved eases this process, making the journey as meaningful and special as possible.

Not only can the resident receiving palliative care enjoy the comfort of having their own belongings and furniture around them, but they also have a loving, inclusive family atmosphere, a soothing environment, and expert medical attention whenever they need it.

Our team receives professional training in the most advanced palliative care to provide a reassuring, warm, and compassionate approach for all involved.
