A big welcome to our new hospitality manager Philip

trask 2

Philip Trask has cooked for nearly every member of the Royal family and he has pledged to make Downham Grange food fit for a king.

His Royal connections came during a 23 year career in the Army as a chef in the Royal Logistics Corps.

“At various times, I cooked for the late Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as well as many other Royals. King Charles is about the only member of the family I have never met,” he said.

Since leaving the Army, Philip has taken on several roles in hospitality, including catering manager at RAF Marham.

Philip’s simple philosophy is that food “must look good and taste good” and his first objective is to ensure that the standards of everyone in the kitchen at Downham Grange match his own.

He said: “The residents will be my focus and I want to improve the quality of their daily life in every way, from enhancing the mealtime experience to enriching our activities programme. We are currently recruiting new activities staff.”

Philip said he would also be looking to forge new links between Downham Grange and local groups so the home could play a bigger role in the community to the benefit of residents.
