I am a creative type and have worked as a full time artist including running an Art Gallery, organising music, fine art, puppetry and poetry events . Having also worked in complex care for many years and became involved in creative art therapy for mental health and wellbeing. I joined St Mary’s with a passion for our residents to have meaningful and fun activities that provide enrichment and variety in their lives and that encourage inclusion wherever possible for relatives and friends. Outside of work I love painting, puppet making and visiting family and friends ,making the most of Norfolk’s big skies and landscapes

I have previously worked in the catering trade for over 30 years in hotels and restaurants and was a chef in Germany for 5 years. I recently joined St Mary's as the head chef and have been made to feel extremely welcome by all the team. I enjoy working within care homes and St Mary's is providing classic home meals to all the residents. Apart from the time I have spent abroad I have spent most of my life in Norfolk. I am happily married and enjoy holidays abroad and gardening in my spare time.

I worked in community health services before spending nearly 10 years at the Care Quality Commission as an inspector and then as an inspection manager. The part of my job I enjoy the most is being out in the care homes, seeing first-hand the pride and dedication of our home managers and the family atmosphere they engender. Outside of work, I love hiking and enjoying our wonderful British countryside.
