Healthcare firm hands out awards to its staff
Top care workers were rewarded for their dedication as a rapidly expanding Lowestoft firm held its annual awards. 2016 has already been a year of celebration for Kingsley Healthcare as it moved into new 14,000sq ft state- of-the-art offices in Clapham Road South, Lowestoft, renovating the old Suffolk County Council building and creating room for another 100 jobs in the process. The firm has grown hugely in recent years – and is embarking on a £200m expansion, with the aim of becoming a well-known national brand in five years.
And on Thursday the firm thanked all those staff across the country who had helped in its success – and brought a massive boost to Lowestoft in the process. Chief executive Daya Thayan said in a speech to employees: “What will never change, and what underpins our continued success story, is the dedication of our caring staff. “You are the backbone of our operation and it is your commitment and compassion that we celebrate here today. “Your success is a real success and you are our success. You should be proud of your achievements.”
Fifteen awards honoured every category of staff, from support work- ers and cleaners to nurses and managers. Those awarded at the ceremony – held at the Ivy House Country Hotel, in Oulton Broad included Emma Filby, who was named as the Lowestoft head office star, and Carole Cook, from Kirkley Manor Care Home, who won the prize for activities co-ordinator of the year. Celebrity doctor Dawn Harper, of TV’s Embarrassing Bodies, hosted the event.
