thorp ukraine churchservice 1 v2

Thorp House resident Michael Harper who has supported the Ukraine community by raising nearly £700 through fund-raising challenges was invited to a special memorial service at St Peter Mancroft Church in Norwich.

A beautiful service of reflection, prayer and stories was held in recognition of the one year anniversary of the Ukraine war.

Ceremonial candles were blown out and relit to symbolise hope and there was music from Ukrainian opera singers.

Gifts of the Ukrainian flag were knitted and decorated by residents at Thorp House as a symbol of strength and support.

Pictured are Michael Harper with activities coordinator Marcia Hughes with Ian Elliot (Governor Rotary East Anglia ) and Michael Haythorpe (Member Watton Rotary) who very kindly paid for the transport.
