Maebh McCormack

Home Manager

I started my nurse training in 2006 at Trinity College Dublin. I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Intellectual Disabilities and began my nursing career at Stewarts Hospital in Palmerstown in Dublin. I worked as a carer in a nursing home in Dublin every weekend during my 4 years of nurse training.

I worked with residents with varying degrees of intellectual and physical disabilities as well as mental health problems for a year before making a decision to move to the U.K (Norfolk) to explore Forensic Mental Health.

I started my job as a staff nurse with Care Principles in 2011 and worked my way through to acting charge nurse when I decided to elope and travel the world for 5 months in 2014.

When I returned to the U.K I had an interest in pursuing care of the elderly and supporting those with palliative needs and so I found myself a position as Clinical Lead at Overbury House in Wroxham. I was there for 4 years from 2014-2018.

I left Overbury and joined Kingsley Healthcare in 2018 as the Deputy Manager. I took on the role of Home Manager at Heron Lodge in March 2020.

I’m passionate about training, continuous professional development and supporting all the staff who join us at Heron Lodge to further their skills and training.
